A very strange tradition…

For over a hundred years Prestonians have been visiting the City’s Avenham/Miller Parks on Easter Monday to roll their Easter Eggs down the hills. Nowadays the eggs are mainly of the chocolate variety and the event itself has become a much larger occasion with entertainment, food stalls, fairground rides and very rarely a bit of sun to keep the crowds happy.  The Easter Egg rolling tradition is still fairly localised but according to Wikipedia it’s a tradition that is now also undertaken on the White House lawn. Here are a few photos from the Preston branch of the Easter Egg rolling fraternity.
