Sometimes you’ve just got to make the effort to get up and out early if you want to catch the best light. For these photographs I’d packed my Fuji X-T1 together with the 55-200mm lens and the wide-angle 10-24mm. This is Preston Dock which was opened in 1892, by Queen Victoria’s second son, Prince Albert. Today Preston Dock is thriving marina, residential and business area.
When I first arrived at the dock, it didn’t look good from a photographic point of view but then around 10 minutes after sunrise the faintest hints of colour started to tinge the clouds and things started to change quite quickly. I’ve seen this scene look much more dramatic but at least I was rewarded for my early start with a few pictures.
