It was perhaps the perfect Christmas present but it may be another year or so before this young chap really starts to enjoy the festivities.
Our first grandson was born just a few days before Christmas and perhaps not surprisingly, I was keen to grab a few photographs. I think Mum, Dad and Baby are still a bit shellshocked by the whole thing but this little boy is already bringing happiness.
These photographs were all taken using natural light with the Fuji X-T1 and 35mm f1.4 lens. I’m looking forward to watching him grow and am looking forward to capturing many more family photographs.
I hope you like this small selection of pictures of one-week old baby Melling.
Photographing pets is not always the easiest of tasks but it is usually great fun, even when it’s muddy and wet. The pictures below were taken locally on Ashton Park in Preston and as you can see the dog had clearly been enjoying himself.
Pets can be a challenging subject to capture. They move fast and are unpredictable, so a supply of treats and the position of the dog’s owner are key things to remember. As with humans, I also like to make sure there are catchlights in the eyes, which can also be a bit of a challenge when the dog’s eyes are shielded by hair. You have to be patient and for every photo I kept there were plenty of rejects!
All these images were taken with the Fuji X-T1 and 50-140mm lens.
