A fantastic performance today by PNE Ladies as they beat Morecambe Ladies Reserves 6-2 at UCLan Arena. Preston blew Morecambe away in the first half, which they completely dominated, scoring four good goals.
To their credit Morecambe Ladies came out fighting in the second half and competed strongly, pegging Preston back. Morecambe managed to score a couple of goals but Preston took advantage as the visitors pushed forward and scored another couple of quality goals themselves.
PNE Ladies are playing with confidence at the moment and hopefully they can keep up this momentum till the end of the season.

On a freezing cold afternoon, PNE Ladies triumphed over Bolton Wanderers u21 Ladies at the UCLan arena. The final score was 3-1 to PNE.
It was a vital win for Preston against another team struggling at the bottom of the league. PNE dominated throughout the game and the scale of their victory could have been greater based on the number of chances and pattern of play.
The condition were difficult – a bitingly cold wind and the odd flurry of snowflakes. Credit to both sides for the way they went about the game.
It is to be hoped that this will give PNE the confidence to go on and win more games in the weeks ahead.
I thought I’d post a couple of photos from two very different magazine shoots recently. These are black and white versions of shots that I submitted for the magazine features but I still like these monochrome versions.
The first shoot took place at The Cartford Inn, one the best ‘gastro-pubs’ in Lancashire. The ambiance, the staff and the food are all top notch. The photos I’ve included are of the award winning chefs but I was also photographing the food and restaurant areas for the magazine feature.
The second magazine feature was about the RejuvaMed skin clinic in Chorley. Here I was photographing Dr Grant McKeating and his team. The skin clinic employs some hi-tech methods but it’s all about the people here.
You can view more of my photos from these shoots in the latest issues of Live Preston and Live Ribble Valley magazines. Check them out – they are producing some really good quality magazines.
It’s fine margins between the disappointment of defeat and the joy of winning. Preston are languishing close to the bottom of the league, while their opponents Bury Ladies are close to the top. You certainly wouldn’t have known based on the first 20 minutes of the game, which PNE dominated. When chances come your way though, it’s the teams at the top that seem to put them away and that was the case down at UCLan Arena today. PNE could easily have been a couple of goals to the good before Bury scored but it wasn’t to be.
Preston played some good football and probably had as many chances as Bury but it was Bury who took all three points with two goals in the first half and another in the second. If Preston continue to play this way then it can’t be too long before they get more points on the board.
